Job interview literature contains matter related to how you should react, dressing sense, and questions to ask, but rarely says anything regarding questions not to ask. If you are hunting for a job, what you ask matters the most. Let us discuss some of the job interview questions that you should not ask.

Questions Not To Ask And Why

-When can I apply for leave: this question gives an impression that the candidate is not interested about his performance in the new job. You should this question after you’re offered the job and not in the initial rounds.

-Promotion criteria: you should not enquire about the time it takes to get promotion. It gives an impression that you are over the interview job. You should ask this once you get the job.

-Working hours: enquiring about work hours says you work by the clock. In MNC, the interviewer is not looking for people who work by the clock.

-Questions related to size and type of office: asking these questions during the job interview are irrelevant unless you are an interior decorator. You will find this out once you join the team.

-Enquiring about employee activities: These questions give an impression that you are interested in various activities rather than working hard.

-Enquiring about whether the company would support your further education during the interview is not good. The company wants you to focus on business.

-You should not ask questions related to use of the computer for non-company purpose during the interview. This shows your lack of business sense and maturity.

-You should not ask questions such as if you could work as a freelancer (from home). The hiring company will be looking for candidates to work in the office to help it become more successful.

-Enquiring regarding the cafeteria is useless during the interview because it is irrelevant unless the company is a catering firm. Similar to this, you should not ask how the interviewer likes working in the firm.

-Asking about the social life during the job interview is not good. The hiring manager may feel like you are more of outgoing person rather than workaholic.

-You should not ask irrelevant questions relating to the dress code during the interview. You can find it out from another employee of the company.

The above-mentioned questions may seem irrelevant, but people do ask them. You should think before you speak because your questions sometimes say more about you in comparison to the answers of the questions that the interviewer asks you.
