The questions that lie behind the employer’s door sometimes bring jitters to all. Facing a job interview once you have cleared the application phase is the hardest part of securing yourself a job. With loads of competition and many deserving applicants applying for the same job, interviewers ask tough questions. Your should thoroughly prepare yourself.

Variations In Interviews

Every job interview varies from one person to the other and from one industry to another, so it’s hard to give precise opinions relating to a particular job interview. However, you can follow some basic rules that will help you face the interviewer confidently and enrich your results.

Three Important Activities

If you want a job then the way you prepare for the interview makes all the difference. There are three primary activities that make a major difference in securing you a job and helping you to face the interview.
1.Written/ Verbal communication
Poorly stated or disorganized communication can lead you to trouble. During an interview, don’t be shy and soft spoken. Maintain eye contact with the interviewer and carefully listen to what they say.

Answer their questions confidentially and do not use slang and street language. The interviewers are interested in your background so give them a short summary of life. Make sure that both your written and verbal offerings are similar and do not contradict each other.

2.Body language
Your body language is being observed as soon as you enter the interviewing room. Your physical appearance plays an important role in getting you a job. You are termed self-indulgent if dressed too sloppy or casually.  Dress in a nice suit or other formal clothes that make you look organized, sharp and controlled. Body language is predicted in the way you shake hands. A soft handshake is noticeable where as a firm handshake reassures others regarding your drive and confidence level. Also, while seated, you should always sit back straight, keep a smile on your face, be attentive, and maintain eye contact with all interviewers.

3.Ask them intelligent questions
When the interviewer asks you to curb your anxieties, ask intelligent questions and show them that you are interested in the job and are well aware of what they expect of you. Do not try to dominate the interviewer. Instead, engage them as much as they do you.

You should interview with confidence as well as follow the above-mentioned rules to get the job you’re looking for.
